Opinel Harvesting rig

I have used this configuration for years as a way of cutting lettuce, bunching greens, and harvesting broccoli.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Drop the knife from your hand as you bunch greens and pick it back up to trim off the bottom edges.  No hunting around for lost knives (mostly).  Opinels keep a good edge and are very light (this is a No. 08).
